7:00 Core 1: The Biblical Imagination
Eighteen inches is all that separates our minds and hearts, but without a biblically-informed imagination to bridge the gap, it might as well be a million miles away. In this core, Michael will discuss the reality of this breach – a product of the Fall – in believers’ lives and shed some light on how the imagination builds a bridge for the Holy Spirit to cross and connect what we know with what we feel and what we do.

8:30 Core 2: The Radical Reversal
All the definitions change with Jesus – the first are last, the wise are fools, the humbled are exalted – as the Kingdom breaks into our world. It’s what we discover by way of an imagination rightly informed by the Scriptures, but even then, we struggle with what such a radical reversal of ideas could and should mean for our minds and hearts. In this core, Michael looks at living in accordance with the Word that does not line up with the world.

10:30 Core 3: The Bridge from Head to Heart
How does imagination become more than just, well, imagination? How does biblical imagination take real root in our lives to grow up, out, and into creative and comforting shade for others? In this core, Michael provides examples of others building the bridge of biblical imagination and encourages us to recognize our need to respond to our Creator in our own bridge-building as well.

1:30 Workshop 1: Holding Our Feet to the Fire
Shema integration, the paradox of radical reversal, a bridge from head to heart - what do any of these really have to do with real life? Here’s where we figure it out in a practical hands-on way through pairs, small group, and big group interaction. With help from the Holy Spirit, we’ll try to grab on to what may have grabbed us about biblical imagination.

Jesus’ parables are an invitation to learn to listen to His Word, to the silence of prayer, and to the parable of your own life. Here’s where we get you started, turn you loose, and then celebrate with you as we receive the gift of your sharing back with us what God has done and is doing. Indeed, the call is to community...and loving each other by listening to each other is what true biblical community does.
