 Monk and Neagle

There's something about duos in Christian music that has caught on with the college-age, coffeehouse set. Besides Shane & Shane, there's Monk & Neagle, and they've got a new CD, The Twenty-First Time, produced by Ed Cash, the same guy who worked on their self-titled Flicker Records debut.

Monk & Neagle is story-telling duo using acoustic pop with a bit of Texas twang to connect with many fans. Trent Monk and Michael Neagle-- now you know their first names, too-- are busy being on tour with MercyMe these next couple of months, as they share new songs in concert with old and new fans alike.

"These stories, these songs were born in the everyday," Neagle says, "from the conviction that comes out of personal experience, faith in the middle of doubt, and our desire to unbox the Gospel--to show how relevant it is to where we all live."

"'The Twenty-First Time' is a song inspired by my wife, Micah, who for our entire marriage has been a true picture of compassion in my life," says Monk. "Anytime she sees someone in need, she wants to stop and help. She'll take food to the park to see if she can find anyone homeless or hungry, when I'm the guy who says, 'We don't have time.' This song grew out of being challenged by her example, her spirit, her compassion."

If you know of any soldier serving in Iraq, you need to get this CD to hear Monk & Neagle's song, "What Soldiers Do."
