 Charlie Peacock Returns
Source: CCM
Date Posted: October 17,2001

After a two year sabbatical artist / producer / songwriter Charlie Peacock is returning to serve the Christian community as a producer and songwriter. Planning to continue the successful formula of co-writing with artists he produces, Peacock has formed a new, family-owned publishing company, Printshop Music Group. In addition to his own music, Printshop Music Group will also publish the music of Peacock's son, Sam Ashworth. (Ashworth penned "I Won't Stay Long," which is featured on Sixpence None The Richer's PLATINUM-selling self-titled album.)

During his sabbatical, Peacock attended Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis and completed three jazz / improvisational music recordings: a solo piano recording (THE EXACTNESS OF FEEL), duets with saxophonist Jeff Coffin from Bela Fleck and the Flecktones (ARC OF THE CIRCLE), and a soon-to-be titled album recorded in New York City featuring popular jazz artists Ravi Coltrane and Kurt Rosenwinkel.

Regarding his return to producing and songwriting, Peacock states, "My calling is to 'feed the sheep,' that is, care for God's people, equipping them for every good work. Though teaching and writing is something I do more and more, I can see that equipping others through my songwriting and music production skills is still important, essential work."
