Third Day and Jars of Clay Raise $75,000 for Blood:Water Mission during the 12- City “Christmas Offerings Tour.” At least 12 entire African villages will now have clean water for a year as a result of money raised during Third Day’s 12-city “Christmas Offerings Tour,” with special guests Jars of Clay, which saw sell-out crowds in Houston, Tex.; Minneapolis, Minn.; San Antonio, Tex. and Madison, Wisc. Third Day and Jars of Clay played to well over 40,000 people during the 12-date run. Sharing about the impact that will be made from the support raised during the tour is Third Day’s Tai Anderson, “Knowing that each member of the audience during this tour represented an African that will soon be receiving clean drinking water gave the ‘Christmas Offerings Tour’ incredible significance. It is overwhelming to think of the support raised during a 12-city tour. All of us in Third Day have always been big fans of Jars of Clay’s music, and we now feel deeply connected to the band’s incredible, life changing mission in Africa.” Dan Haseltine, of Jars of Clay, provides further context around the importance of the mission. “There is something chronically hopeful about providing clean water for people in Africa. The effects of clean water are obvious in the health of a community, in the a m ount of children that can go to school instead of walk to get water, and in the empowerment of leaders in the community as they see how their ideas have made a difference; and yet there is so much more work to be done. We know that for every community that we celebrate their access to clean water, there are hundreds who still hang in the balance of life and death. The funds raised on this tour will support Blood:Water Mission, as we begin 150 new projects this year that will give clean water to thousands and thousands of Africans. Until the day comes when every African has access to clean water, we will continue our efforts, and will welcome the overwhelming feeling of gratitude toward those of you who have helped make this possible.” For more information on how to contribute to Blood:Water Mission, please visit: www.bloodwatermission.com.
