FFH Supports Basket of Hope Ministry
Source: Essential Records
Date Posted: March 14,2002

Essential Records artist FFH teamed up with Missouri-based ministry Basket of Hope, St. Louis radio station JOYFM and the Kurt Warner First Things First Foundation to bring music to children diagnosed with cancer or other serious illness. The group recently performed a special concert at SSM Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital in St. Louis, where Rams quarterback, and FFH enthusiast, Kurt Warner and his wife Brenda stopped by to visit with the children and hear the band.

The day began with an early morning interview at local radio station and event coordinator JOYFM. From there all parties traveled to the hospital, where Kurt and Brenda Warner introduced FFH. Following the band's performance, the couple closed in prayer, as JOYFM aided in distributing stuffed animals, FFH CDs, autographed Kurt Warner football cards and other goodies to the children.

"Basket of Hope is an amazing program that serves to bring Christ love's to those in need," said Jeromy Deibler of FFH. "We were humbled and honored to share in their mission that day and appreciate Kurt's support of our ministry."

"There were so many families in the audience with children who had bandages on their heads and IVs in their arms," commented Angela Brunette, executive director of Basket of Hope. "FFH was able to lift their spirits, reminding them of God's love through the gift of music. It was just the medicine those children needed; I was on cloud nine for days."

Basket of Hope was established in 1995, as a means of sharing Christ's hope, delivering baskets with inspirational books, toys, games, hats and Bibles for children diagnosed with serious illness. Baskets are carefully created to nourish each child physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually, sending the message of God's love to believers and non-believers alike. The program has extended to hospitals statewide and beyond, including St. Louis Children's Hospital, the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia and Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock, Ark. Established in May 2001, the Kurt Warner First Things First Foundation is a public charity, which serves as a vehicle for Kurt and Brenda Warner as they reach out to the community to share their blessings with those in need. The foundation is dedicated to impacting lives by promoting Christian values, sharing experiences and providing opportunities to encourage everyone that all things are possible when people seek to put "first things first." Recently nominated for Best Pop/Contemporary Album by the Gospel Music Association, Have I Ever Told You is the band's third Essential release, following the success of their national debut, I Want To Be Like You (which earned them the title of Best New Artist of 1999 by The CCM Update), and their critically acclaimed sophomore record Found A Place. Sales of the band's three recordings have collectively reached close to 700,000 copies and generated numerous radio hits. Have I Ever Told You has garnered three No. 1 radio singles since its debut six months ago, including, "Watching Over Me," "On My Cross" and "Before It Was Said."
