Fervent Records’ two-time Dove Award winning modern pop/rock band By The Tree is making an impact this summer and fall with high-profile appearances, including the use of “Wonderful Again” from their debut Invade My Soul on the popular MTV program “Becoming.”

The next slated airing for “Becoming: Eve and Gwen Stefani” is Tuesday, June 4 at 3 p.m. eastern time. The show chose to use the song “Wonderful Again” from the group’s debut in a recent episode where two fans are chosen to be transformed through dress, make-up and dance into recording artists Gwen Stefani (of No Doubt) and Eve to create their version of the video for the mainstream hit “Let Me Blow Ya Mind.”

In addition to the band’s music being featured on MTV, By The Tree is also gearing up to perform alongside ZOEGirl and Superchic[k] as one of the opening acts on the Newsboys fall tour. By The Tree will showcase songs from their upcoming August 27 release, These Days, on the tour, which is slated to hit 40 cities by its completion.

Until then, fans will be able to preview songs from the new album as they catch By The Tree performing at major festivals such as Alive, AtlantaFest, Creation and the World Pulse Festival, among others. Fervent Records, in conjunction with Reunion Records, will be distributing a free multi-artist sampler at many of this summer’s major events.

The band’s debut release, Invade My Soul, helped to make By The Tree one of Christian music’s top ten new artists of 2001 according to Soundscan, and garnered the band Dove Awards for Modern Rock/Alternative Album and Modern Rock/Alternative Recorded Song for the album’s title track. Originally based in the Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX, area, By The Tree was the first signing and release from Franklin, TN, based Fervent Records, which is distributed to Christian retail stores through Provident Music Group.  These Days, the band’s follow-up release, is slated to hit stores on August 27, 2002.
