 Geoff Moore to Support Camp
Source: ForeFront Records
Date Posted: October 22,2002

Last week, ForeFront Records recording artist Geoff Moore took part in an event to celebrate the new construction site of the Victory Junction Gang Camp in North Carolina - a camp founded by NASCAR driver Kyle Petty and his wife, Pattie, which will help children with chronic and life-threatening illnesses. The Victory Junction Gang Camp will be the only multi-disease camp of its kind in The Carolinas and Virginia.

“I was honored to be invited by Kyle and Pattie to be a part of this event. It was exciting to see how the NASCAR community came together to support something that will affect the lives of thousands of children,” Geoff said.

The camp is intended to create camping experiences that are fun, physically safe and medically sound. The Victory Junction Gang Camp is the most recent addition to Paul Newman's family of Hole In The Wall Gang Camps which helps thousands of children and their families each summer. To be opened in the summer of 2004, the Petty’s founded the camp in honor of their son Adam, also a NASCAR driver, who died in a racing accident in 2000 at the age of 19.

Geoff was asked by the Petty family to be the musical guest of the event and requested that he perform his song, “When All Is Said And Done.” This song has significant meaning in the Petty family because weeks prior to his death, Adam’s mom purchased a copy of Geoff’s CD Evolution after hearing “When All Is Said And Done” on the radio. The words of this song became an inspiration to Adam through a difficult time in his life and he listened to the song regularly for motivation.

“It is obvious that through the loss of their son, Kyle and Pattie’s vision of the Victory Junction Gang Camp has become even clearer,” said Geoff. “Through the smiles this camp will leave on children’s faces, Adam’s legacy will live on.”

Dubbed the “Going Green” celebration, the event was also attended by NASCAR legend Richard Petty and his wife Lynda, actor and Hole in the Wall Gang Camp founder Paul Newman, Aerosmith guitarist Brad Whitman, actress Andie McDowell, and NASCAR drivers Bobby Labonte, Dale Jarrett and Michael Waltrip.
