Grammy and Dove-nominated pop/rockers All Star United have
just released "Lets Get Crazy," a 5-song collection of b-sides, rarities,
and previously unreleased material. The project, available exclusively
online through the bands website (www.allstarunited.com) and select other
sites, was designed as a fan-focused release in advance of the bands brand
new album, already in progress.
"It has been a long time since we have put out a completely brand new
album,
"says All Star lead singer, Ian Eskelin. "Since the release of Smash Hits,
we have had a bunch of songs that we knew we were not going to put on the new
album. Rather than let them go to waste, we figured we would put it out there
for the fans to enjoy as a limited edition collectors item."
The band is offering "Lets Get Crazy" as a "thank you" to fans for
their
longstanding support:
"We have been blessed with having the greatest fans in the world, "says
Eskelin. "They have always been incredibly supportive. We knew that they
were
getting anxious for a new All Star record. "Lets Get Crazy‚" kind of
became
a special ‚"thank you" project to hold people over until the new stuff
shipped out."
The material on "Lets Get Crazy" is a collection of songs written after
the release of the bands critically acclaimed sophomore release,
International Anthems For The Human Race, and the Smash Hits greatest hits
compilation. Included on this project are the songs "Lets Get Crazy," a
full-bore rocker and the projects namesake, "Satellite," a metaphorical
song
about the surrounding love of God, the devil-bashing "Big Mistake," "Fall On
Me," a love song from God to us, and "Song For The Broken Hearted," a
sweeping musical movement offering encouragement to the struggling believer.
In addition to the release of this limited edition EP (only 1,000 total
units were pressed), the band has been hard at work on their brand new, full
length album. Recording in various studios throughout Nashville, the band
has already completed eight (8) songs for this as-yet untitled release. The
process of writing for this new project has resulted in a renewed passion and
purpose for the band:
"The writing and recording of this new album has been an amazing process,"
says Eskelin. "I can honestly say that I have never had this much fun
putting a record together. Everything has been so smooth and easy. The
songs have so much energy in them reminiscent of rock legends like the
Rolling Stones and Kinks, with a little Elton John thrown in for good
measure. I think that people are going to be blown away. These are songs
that have definitely come from the heart."
All Star United plan to complete the new album in early February and are
tentatively scheduled for a late spring release. Worldwide touring is set to
begin sometime in March. With growing speculation about the bands new
record label home, the band remains tight-lipped: "That information will be
given out on a need-to-know basis," smiles Eskelin. "Lets just say, the
best is yet to come."
