Six months into the release of the national debut album, “The Healing Of Harms,” Flicker Record’s rock band Fireflight blaze up the charts reaching No. 1 on both R&R and CRW Christian Rock Charts with its second single, “Waiting.” This follows their debut smash single "You Decide,” which also went No. 1 at CRW Christian Rock and named one of Air1's Top 25 songs of 2006.
With more than 20,000 units scanned in the first six months after their debut release, Fireflight is seeing success that reaches far beyond the Christian market. Fireflights’ song “Star Of The Show” was recently selected for America’s Funniest Video’s music montage in the January 28 nationwide airing, rebroadcasting March 20, in addition E! Entertainment’s “Style Network” chose the song to promote their upcoming spring season. Also catch Fireflight’s “You Decide” on the in-store video reel for both American Eagle and Journey’s stores across the nation.
Fireflight is currently on a 36-city run as part of the Scars Remain tour, which goes through March, with Decyfer Down, Family Force 5, and headliners Disciple. The band will head out this spring with Seventh Day Slumber.
Birthed from the small music-starved town of Eustis, Florida, just outside Orlando, this Florida-based rock band, Fireflight, formed in 1999 comprising of Dawn Richardson (lead vocals), Wendy Drennen (bass), Glenn Drennen (guitar), Justin Cox (guitar, background vocals) and Phee Shorb (drums). Fireflight’s sound is a mixture of emo-core, modern rock, and progressive metal. They have shared the stage with Skillet, Kutless, Anberlin and Disciple to name a few.
