Nate Huss debuted his self-revealing new album Here With Me (Slanted Records) on May 1st. It sounded the opening bell on a personal journey towards bringing his music to the potential wide world of listeners he hopes to reach.

Here With Me, crafted in studio by producer Jamie Moore (TobyMac, Ayiesha Woods, Nicole C. Mullen, Falling Up) the album offers creative pop-rock overlays with nine of the eleven tracks emerging directly as self-written slices from the unique life experiences and prospective of Nate Huss.

At 21, the Phoenix native is a 2005 alumni winner of GMA’s Music In The Rockies who opted to forfeit thoughts of a career in sports while at North Arizona University for the allure of his love of creating and performing his music.

Here With Me is filled track-to-track with songs in the key of life from a self-professed “rock head”—words and music created on Nate’s unique journey of self-discovery and personal search for his own identity. It's a journey he hopes can now go far beyond entertaining to offer genuine hope and encouragement to his listeners.

The title of the album itself comes from a glimpse of wisdom collected in studio.

Notes Nate: “We were talking as the album was coming together about life and the subject turned to heartaches that we all experience—how you get tired of people telling you ‘everything will be OK.’ The conversation emerged that God doesn’t just push us through hard times and say, ‘See you on the other side!’ He is always there with us—even when we turn and run from Him—he’s still there. He is always ‘here with me’—it became the core message of the song we wrote—and the real baseline heart of the album’s message.”

Nate had good direction on the creative process early on.

"My friend and writing buddy Aaron Rice, who actually was a judge at Music In The Rockies and was instrumental in encouraging me to make the move to Nashville with my music, gave me some great advice in the studio. He said, ‘Write who you are--write you!' That’s what I’ve done with this album.”

On the personal side, adopted at three weeks of age into the Huss family, Nate was raised as one of eight multi-cultural children in a loving Christian environment he candidly describes as “looking something like the United Nations!”

“When you have twin sisters from Guatemala, a Korean sister, a black brother, a Mexican brother, and two white brothers, from the beginning it’s not hard to tell you are adopted! We didn’t share any blood characteristics—we were complete strangers with 100% unconditional love for each other. We challenged each other to think and to grow and be better people,” he notes.

His unique beginning in life combined with the intense growing up search for his own personal self-identity is the perfect set-up for his music. "Finding your place in the world and the meaning of why we're here is a huge challenge with my generation. I feel my music really hits this reality head on. I can share from having had the experience of the search," Nate notes.

The first radio single from the album, You Still Know My Name is a powerful reflection of Nate’s personal story of rescue and redemption through adoption.

Your Own, the album’s bonus track, was written with older brother Dan, as a thank you to the mothers that allowed them the gift of life.

In between is a full collection of songs that are waiting to connect with the broad range of listeners--listeners who will find in Nate Huss a strong, intentional new ministry-oriented platform artist with a fresh new voice and musical presence on the industry horizon.
