Celebrate the fall season kick off aboard the Rail Splitter, southern Indiana’s newest way to see the vibrant autumn colors of Abraham Lincoln’s boyhood forest! Ride in comfort as the train takes you along the Ohio River, through oak and hickory forests and into some of the most picturesque and historic landscapes in Indiana.

One-way train rides with return bus transportation, or round trip train rides are available. Snacks and drinks will be available in the commissary car. Park rangers from Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial will be aboard to point out landmarks and answer questions about our 16th President and his formative Indiana years.

One-way ride options: (2 Hours one-way) - $20
Train departs from the Tell City Depot at 12:00 pm and will arrive at the Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial, in Lincoln City, at 2:00 pm. A bus will transport passengers back to Tell City right away, leaving at 2:10 pm.
Train departs from the Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial, in Lincoln City, at 2:30 pm and will arrive at the Tell City Depot at 4:30 pm. A bus will be available to transport passengers back to Lincoln City right away, leaving at 4:40 pm.

Round trip option: (4 ½ Hours round trip) - $40
Train departs from the Tell City Depot at 12:00 pm and will arrive at the Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial, in Lincoln City, at 2:00 pm. Passengers may disembark and explore the Abraham Lincoln Boyhood Living Historical Farm with a ranger. At 2:30 the train will begin its return trip to Tell City, arriving at 4:30 pm.
