Leave cold weather behind for a week-long voyage in the Southern Caribbean. Basseterre’s volcanic past seeps into the present at its black sand beaches, and its fruit is so sweet thanks to its rich soil. Sip punch made with fresh citrus and you’ll immediately be a fan. While its beaches and diving are quite enticing, the curious can discover the island’s interior, lush with history. Colorful Willemstad boasts 35 beaches and a downtown area that’s a UNESCO World Heritage site. Most citizens here have Dutch passports, but you only need good walking shoes to explore Punda, a neighborhood of floating markets, shops and sidewalk cafes.
