"The Price of Freedom” with J.R. Martinez

In honor of Military Appreciation Month, Thrivent and the Twin Cities Member Network are proud to be hosting J.R Martinez.

In 2002, J.R joined the U.S. Army. After undergoing Basic and Advanced Training, he was assigned to the 101st Airborne Division in Fort Campbell, KY. Two months later, he headed to Iraq. On April 5, 2003, during a routine patrol, the Humvee he was driving hit a roadside bomb. He thought his life was over, but he survived.

J.R. will talk about his courageous journey as an Army veteran and burn survivor, as well as his experiences as a New York Times best-selling author, actor, motivational speaker, and finalist on "Dancing with the Stars." He's a firm believer that life is what you make it, and he's proof of that.

This event is open to all, so feel free to share the event details with friends and family. Pre-event registration is required for all attendees. This virtual experience will be available on-demand for 24 hours on May 27, 2021.
