Special Guest, Gary Thomas
Gary Thomas is a bestselling author and international speaker whose ministry brings people closer to Christ and closer to others. He unites the study of Scripture, church history, and the Christian classics to foster spiritual growth and deeper relationships within the Christian community.

Gary is the author of numerous books that together have sold over two million copies, have been translated into more than a dozen languages, and won numerous awards. His writings have established him as a thought-leader in the areas of marriage, parenting, and spiritual formation.

Gary holds a B.A. in English Literature from Western Washington University, an MA degree in systematic theology from Regent College (Vancouver, BC), and an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree from Western Seminary (Portland, OR).

He served on the teaching team at Second Baptist Church, Houston for 11 years and is currently on the teaching team at Cherry Hills Community Church in Highlands Ranch, CO. Gary is also an adjunct faculty member at Western Seminary in Portland, Oregon and Houston Theological Seminary in Houston, Texas.

Gary’s speaking ministry has led him to speak in all 50 states and nine different countries, and on numerous national television and radio programs, including multiple appearances on Focus on the Family and Family Life Today. Gary’s interviews on Focus on the Family have been chosen among the “Best of 2013, 2014, 2017, and 2021.” Gary is a lifelong advocate of using the Christian classics to bring people closer to Christ.

Gary enjoys running in his spare time and has completed 14 marathons, including the Boston Marathon three times. He and his wife Lisa have been married for 38 years and they have three adult children and two grandchildren.

*NOTE: The special rate for Celebrate Your Marriage guests at Grand Hotel is $469.15. A link to book your room at our special rate will be provided once it is available.

All Celebrate Your Marriage guests will enjoy a special room rate at Grand Hotel at one of the lowest prices the hotel offers. Our room rate includes your room, dinner for two, and breakfast for two in the hotel's Main Dining Room.

You will reserve your room directly with Grand Hotel. A link to the room reservation form will be included on your confirmation email.

Please note: All attendees to Celebrate Your Marriage are strongly encouraged to book their hotel reservations at Grand Hotel, as meals are included with our special daily rate.

Attendees not staying at Grand Hotel will be required to pay the hotel’s daily admission fee ($10 per person, per day) in order to access all sessions.

In addition, non-hotel guests that wish to eat at Grand Hotel may do so according to the following prices: Breakfast – $49 per person; Dinner – $121 per person. All rates are subject to Michigan sales tax (6%) and require advance reservations by contacting Grand Hotel or visiting the Concierge desk.
